I am giving birth to a new series on a new (to me) film, with an old, but very fine, camera. Birthing something is all-consuming. It floods our thoughts when we are just trying to move through our day. It haunts us in the moments between sleep and wakefulness. It creeps into our dreams. Creation demands the full presence of mind and body. It causes us to sweat and strain and be uncomfortable and, perhaps most difficult of all, to become vulnerable. We open ourselves up to scrutiny, to being compared with others, to being compared to our former selves. The fear of judgment can be hindering and can cause people to run the other way.
This is an invitation to stay, to move beyond all of that fear and find the intimate, hidden places where love resides. And if they elude you, you can always create them yourself. I think of love as being entwined with notions of grace, magic, mystery. This new portfolio embraces all of those things and puts them on a pedestal, asking you to come in for a closer look.
I'll be posting more photos as the series develops. Please stay tuned...
Until next time...
